Several studies have shown the unconscious works harder to change bad habits into good habits; it would take 21 consecutive days for the new behavior to take place. Therefore, I strongly recommend you create a list of all bad habits you would like to change. Then, each quarter, from this list, choose one and change it into a good habit. This way, each year, 4 bad habits would be transformed into 4 good habits. And in 10 years, 40 new good habits would have taken place into your life! With best behaviors and habits, do you think you would be a better person? Actually... Yes.
Also, this will result with new people with better habits. Even your circle of friends and family will be stronger.
Here are the steps to follow:
1 - Establish your bad habits list.
2 - Choose the first habit you would like to change.
3 – During 21 consecutive days, transform your bad habit. (On your calendar, mark 1st, 2nd day, etc. If you skip a day, note that you must start from scratch!) It is very important to be for 21 consecutive days.
4 – During at least one quarter, practice the new good habit.
5 – For the 2nd quarter, choose the 2nd habit to change and so forth. And always at the same time of continuing to practice your first habit.
